While Tuvalu currently has a low level of armed violence, new threats are emerging. These include international arms brokers looking for unsuspecting, distant countries in which to register, plus the need to prevent illegal arms shipments which transit through Tuvalus’s maritime zone.

Over the past decade, the Pacific has achieved significant successes in arms control. In order to preserve the option of prevention and to further increase security, gaps need to be filled. The purpose of this site is to provide useful and practical information on how to upgrade the existing Tuvalu arms control system to improve prevention and safety.
